When your commute includes a ferry, you already know that something special awaits you at your destination. During 2021-2023, I diligently drove in various weather conditions towards this beach paradise, where I felt my blood pressure drop as soon as I turned into the yard. The client’s wish was to update the stately villa towards the Hamptons, with a small twist. The house itself is magnificent, beautifully and carefully built and designed. It was updated with curtains swaying in the wind, inviting bed textiles and light furniture. The textiles were again made by the talented Susanna Ridosta. Some of the furniture was found in local flea markets, thus maintaining a homely atmosphere. A painting found by the client himself crowned the light summer feeling.

Next, with local help, we tackled the update of the lakeside sauna and its cottage. Black was chosen as the exterior color, and inside the cottage was refreshed with light shades and the washroom by combining different tiles. In the sauna, I again relied on Saunamanager’s heat-treated pine, which I have fallen in love with in many projects. The old sauna building was made like new, after skillful execution and many twists and turns.

The people of this summer address make guests feel welcome right at the door, the project as a whole was even more smile-inducing thanks to that.
