When you are somewhere for the first time, it is best to choose your company wisely. When I got to be part of realizing the transformations of the familiar TV series’ spaces, I was lucky to also join a fun group. I brought Kerstin with me, without whom I couldn’t have imagined last late summer and autumn. The filming took us from Hamina to Rautalampi and from Karjaa to the forests of Nuuksio. Before each location, the team discussed the overall goal, what the challenges were, and what the desired state was, where the soul of each place could be found. From these discussions, we continued with Kerstin to crystallize the concept of the space, which would fit Pipsa’s and Ville’s ideas in the kitchen. However, only a little could be planned in advance; on the afternoon of filming day 2, we drove to the location with the car packed to the roof and opened the door. We met the volunteers and quickly decided how everything planned would be implemented, and what still needed to be rethought. There was usually time for the transformation until eight in the morning, so the dim hours of the morning were experienced at each location, with tired giggles. The best moment was listening from behind the corner to how each restaurateur and their team reacted to the change 🙂
Quick decisions, creative solutions in impossible situations, turning fatigue into creative energy. How big changes were made in such a short time, bigger in some locations than in others. Eight places around Finland, wonderful personalities and stories. Fun volunteers, partners, and landscapes. Richer by one experience!
Nothing found.
