If you want to go to the forest now – and we did! Last summer, we were strongly in a festival mood, but in contrast, it was refreshing to slip into the shade of the forest and plan an oasis for thousands of scout leaders to relax and enjoy the good vibes. We joined the Tilhi patrol to plan Kajo’s leader cafe already in the spring of 2021. The sky and the tops of the pines were literally the limit as we considered how different functionalities and spaces would bring together international and domestic scout leaders.

Teamwork during the planning and during the cafe’s opening hours was flexible and functionally sprawling, as all of us were involved and always ready to volunteer in making this big camp – once a scout, always a scout! The entire visual concept was implemented with natural materials, donated materials, self-made.

“The actual cafe week included wet rain, all kinds of mist and hot roast, as well as over 4000 pizzas straight from the oven, hundreds of porilaisii, raumlaissi and french fries. Scarf-necked customers were also attracted by wonderful ice cream portions, smoothies, salads, cakes and soup pots, etc. Good banter, long working days, bursts of laughter and music conjured by bands.”, this is how kitchen mistress Tuula Lyhty summarized the offering. On social media, Lyhty was praised as a “versatile and stylish hipster restaurant”!
