Ohii-o-heeei! Ruissalo Shipyard provided a lovely setting when we had the honor of designing and decorating Visit Finland’s Midnight Sun seminar’s maritime-themed after-parties on a summer evening.
As always, we want to consider our guests’ journey from start to finish. That’s why we got the drivers hats suitable for the theme the day before. When guests arrived at Ruissalo, driven by these sea captains, they were greeted by Lasse and the summer men’s archipelago-themed orchestra – like a postcard for all senses! The tables were decorated with elements found in the archipelago’s nature and paper boats. Each table also had an all-around valuable bag for everyone: pouches made from old sailcloth by Turku’s sea scouts, Aura Girls, which contained the evening’s bar currency: small painted stones.
Delicious catering was provided by Jaakko & Matti from Helmikallio Catering. Passing cruise ships greeted the guests with honks and toasts were made. After dinner, the curtains and doors to the inner courtyard were opened, and our international group of guests was invited to a traditional market atmosphere: buns, coffee, pancakes, a flower wreath workshop, and a darkening summer evening to the rhythm of stage dance music. Letkajenkka and Bollywood moves taught by the guests, laughter and new friends! The dance floor was once again filled by Lasse Sakara and the band, and the biggest problem was that no one wanted to get on even the last bus! Face-to-face encounters and the execution of the event with top professionals – thanks to Tilausajo Muurinen, Lasse Sakara & band, Ruissalon Telakka, Arteflos, Helmikallio Catering, Photographer Hilja Mustonen, Vuokrakaluste, Kuusisaariset, Luomuspaja, Kelkkaprojekti’s Telakkatiimi Mari, Osku & Verneri, and of course everything was transported by Valova, Trucking & Rocking. Thank you Visit Finland for your trust & cooperation <3.
The Midnight Sun event week and Wednesday evening’s event had been planned for a long time, and the atmosphere was like a small child on Christmas Eve when we finally got to peek into Ruissalo shipyard’s party space and see what the place looked like ready after all the planning. Expectations were admittedly high, but the women of Kelkkaprojekti still managed to exceed expectations – the space exuded a wonderful archipelago and midsummer atmosphere, with all its small details. Working with Sisse and Heidi goes like a dance, and their attitude always remains cheerful and positive. No matter what the space and setting are like, it feels like this efficient duo always creates magic! A warm thank you to Sisse and Heidi for the excellent execution and seamless cooperation.
